Here are the details about avatars and what you agree to when you upload an avatar to Star67.
We're obsessed with avatars. Not as a gimmick, but as a genuine act of freedom — the chance to show up as exactly who you feel like being, without the baggage of a face the world assigns meaning to before you've said a word. An avatar strips away assumptions and hands identity back to you: shy people find their voice, bold people go bolder, and everyone gets to play. None of this exists without the artists and creators who build these characters, often through hours of painstaking, underappreciated work — rigging, sculpting, animating, obsessing over details most people will never notice but everyone will feel. We built Star67 as a space that respects that craft and takes it seriously. Every avatar on this platform is somebody's expression, somebody's labor, somebody's freedom — and we want it treated that way. This guide exists to help you bring your own into the world with the same care.
By uploading, you confirm that you are cleared to do so and hold the permissions necessary to grant Star67 a non-exclusive license to distribute the avatar to users.
You're free to license your avatar to others or use it however you like — uploading to Star67 doesn't lock you in.
We currently accept unity files, the same sort of files often sold on Jinxxy for VRChat users. Reach out to support@star67.com if you're unsure whether your file qualifies.
We review all submissions. Not every avatar uploaded will be made available in the app.
All avatars must be appropriate for a general audience. The following are not permitted:
Star67 reserves the right to remove any avatar that we determine violates these guidelines, at our sole discretion, at any time.
Face tracking is what makes Star67 avatars feel alive — please make sure your avatar includes it. Most standard VRChat rigging conventions are compatible and should work out of the box.
Star67 may modify avatar files — including shaders and other technical settings — to ensure compatibility with our system. Our goal is always to present your avatar in the best way possible.
The current version of Star67 doesn't support clothing swaps or toggleable items. Please submit your avatar in a single configuration. If multiple configurations are included, we'll use our discretion to choose which one to display. Configurability is something we want to support down the road.
Star67 may choose to make certain avatars available only to premium or paid subscribers. With all this additional work required to amke this work, this is one way we may help offset the development and ongoing incurred costs.
Star67 may compensate avatar creators for a formal license agreement — if that's the case, we'll reach out to you directly. Otherwise, by uploading, you acknowledge that no compensation is owed. We hope to launch a creator program in the future, but unless agreed to in writing, you should have no expectation of payment.
We'll do our best to attribute avatars to their creators where the product allows it. On the submission, you'll see the opportunity to link users to your avatar store, there is also a section to add a text box description of your avatar and credits.
Email us at any time to request removal from the email you submitted the avatar from. We'll take it down promptly — no questions asked.
If you believe an avatar infringes on your rights, contact us and we'll investigate and remove if appropriate.
